Onboard Graph
In Web2, social graphs serve as connections among users, their content, and interests, pivotal datasets for social network platforms to captivate attention and enhance user engagement. However, the rampant centralization of these social graphs by big tech has increasingly constrained both users and developers.
To present an alternative solution, we're introducing Onboard Graph—a decentralized, censorship-resistant, and user-controlled alternative to fuel the future of social networking on the internet.
OnboardGraph comprises smart contracts linking user identities (OnboardAccounts) to their content and social connections, enabling the storage of this intricate social data across multiple EVM-compatible blockchains. Through OnboardGraph's adaptable middleware design, storing users' invaluable social data on blockchain databases unlocks innovative social networking tools and community-building capabilities, including monetization via tokenization.
Every user possessing an OnboardAccount holds inherent creator capabilities and can publish monetizable content. When content, such as a post, image, or video, is initially generated within a dApp on the Onboard Social, it gets uploaded to a decentralized storage system like IPFS or Arweave. Subsequently, a link between the content's URL and the creator's account is logged on the OnboardGraph smart contract. This decentralized linkage between accounts and content is fundamental in ensuring genuine user ownership and eliminating centralized control from any platform. This process is pivotal in facilitating online communication on the open web, guarding against a corrupted or disincentivized platform from monopolizing and manipulating content distribution.
